Rebecca Liu is an Associate Attorney at Matern Law Group. She represents clients in wage and hour class action lawsuits, and individual clients in discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases. Rebecca is committed to championing the rights of those who have been wronged and to providing unwavering advocacy for her clients.
Inspired by her experiences translating for her non-English-speaking grandparents, Rebecca developed an interest in access to justice issues and bridging the gap for those most underrepresented and underserved in our communities. Her dedication to access to justice led her to work with non-profit organizations, such as Legal Assistance for Seniors and JusticeCorps at the Self-Help Center at the Stanley Mosk Superior Courthouse. Rebecca’s non-profit background fueled her desire to be an advocate, steering her towards plaintiff-side litigation.
In law school, Rebecca was a Judicial Extern for Judge Jeffrey S. White of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, and participated in the Medical Legal Partnership for Seniors (MLPS) clinic, one of UC Law SF’s nationally renowned clinical programs. Rebecca also served as a Senior Articles Editor for Hastings Law Journal. Her commitment to justice is reflected in professional accomplishments, including being selected as a recipient of the Hastings Public Interest Law Foundation Summer Grant and as an Equal Justice America Summer Fellow. Rebecca has been recognized for her academic achievements as well, as she received the Cali Excellence for the Future Award for the highest grade in Consumer Protection in California.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys hiking, visiting art museums, and experimenting with new recipes. Her personal and professional accomplishments reflect her dedication to making a positive impact both inside and outside the courtroom.
